The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) has signed on MOU with the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology in Cambodia on September 23, 2020 for the project “Support of the GEO-KOMPSAT-2A Receiving and Analysis System in Cambodia.”
This project is scheduled to be carried out for four years, from 2020 to 2023, with the budget of 3M USD supported by KMA. The project focuses on building satellite data reception, production and analysis system; and system operation and data utilization training.
At the MOU signing meeting, both countries also shared technical cooperation between the two countries, as well as the current situation of the COVID-19.
With the implementation of the GK-2A receiving and analysis system by the project, Cambodia is expected to be able to improve its capacity to respond to natural disasters and reduce damage to residents.
